1. So, it happened: I got a puncture.

Far from ideal, scoring a puncture at 9pm the night before we’re due to fly to Athens at 9am. So guess whose flight just left without them?

Thankfully we were able to change to a flight that leaves tomorrow, and it didn’t cost us tooooo much. Still. Not exactly delighted with this turn of events.

Currently ringing around various places trying to find someone who can fix it. Encountering various roadblocks along the way. Namely, people not speaking any English. I’ll update this as soon as we’ve made some progress.

Keep your fingers crossed for us, eh?

    —Update—

After about 459 phone calls, we’ve found someone who’ll fix it! (Well, technically, we rang someone who knew someone who called someone else who rang the hotel who translated for us) but long story short: they’re coming to fix the tyre.

    Here’s hoping they’re successful!

    —Update 2—

So, I’m all fixed up. However, no such adventure would be complete without a final twist! See, our new flight to Athens leaves at 7am tomorrow, but unfortunately, the train to Fiumicino doesn’t leave that early. So we’ve been trying to find a wheelchair-accessible taxi that’ll take us, and so far we’ve only had one bite - guess how much they want to charge us?

    180 euro.

    Unbelievable.

Stay tuned, folks, this just keeps getting better!
